Smart Discounts

Smart Discounts lets you schedule automated price reductions on your Shopify products using workflows. Discounts are applied and reverted automatically, and the recovery actions are designed to keep live pricing safe when something drifts.

How It Works

1. Open Smart Discounts in your workspace.
2. Create a new discount rule:
   • Select products by tag (e.g., "summer-sale", "clearance")
   • Add one or more tags separated by commas
   • Include mode applies to products matching any listed tag.
   • Optional exclusion tags remove protected products from an include rule.
   • Exclude mode applies to every synced product except those matching any listed tag.
   • Set the discount percentage or fixed amount
   • Choose the start and end dates
3. The workflow automatically applies the discount at the start date and reverts prices at the end date.

Tag Examples

• Include: salty-girls, legacy applies to products tagged salty-girls or legacy.
• Include with exclusion: include t-shirts and exclude salty-girls applies to t-shirt products except products that also carry the salty-girls tag.
• Exclude: legacy applies to every product except those tagged legacy.

Useful example: include salty-girls and exclude legacy if you want the salty-girls campaign to skip legacy items.

Use Cases

Flash Sales

Set up a 24-hour or weekend flash sale. Prices drop automatically when the sale starts and revert when it ends.

Seasonal Promotions

Schedule discounts for Black Friday, holiday season, or back-to-school. Plan weeks in advance and let the automation handle execution.

Clearance Events

Tag slow-moving products and apply progressive discounts to move inventory.

Loyalty Rewards

Create tag-based discounts for VIP customers or repeat buyers.

Managing Discounts

From the Smart Discounts page you can:

• View all active, scheduled, and completed discounts
• Edit discount rules before they activate
• Stop a scheduled discount before it starts
• Review discount history and impact

Action Guide

Smart Discounts separates planning actions from live-recovery actions so operators do not accidentally choose the wrong outcome.

• Apply Now: starts a waiting discount immediately instead of waiting for its scheduled start time.
• Stop Schedule: cancels a discount that has not started yet.
• Apply Missing Items: repairs a live discount by applying it only to items that were missed or later changed manually.
• End Discount Now: ends a live discount immediately and restores the affected prices.
• Restore Base Prices: recovery action that ends the selected discount, restores scoped items to their canonical base price, and preserves any stronger overlapping live discount.
• Enable: rebuilds the discount history and schedules the workflow again for an inactive, ended, or failed discount.
• Delete: permanently removes a non-live discount. If a scheduled workflow run exists, Zeiko cancels it before deletion. Live discounts must be ended first.

Requirements

• Connected Shopify store
• Products must have the specified tag in Shopify
• Availability depends on your plan and workspace setup
