Approval Inbox
How to review and approve agent actions that require human oversight before execution.
Some agent actions require human approval before they execute. Those pending items appear in the Approval Inbox.
Before You Start
- Open Approval Inbox from the agent workspace area
- Make sure you are a reviewer, manager, or another user allowed to approve actions
- If you can view approvals but cannot act on them, ask a workspace admin to review your permissions
What Requires Approval
Approvals are triggered when an agent attempts high-impact actions, such as:
- Publishing content to social media channels
- Executing workflows that modify external data
- Sending communications on behalf of your business
- Actions flagged by workflow approval checkpoints
Viewing Approvals
- Go to Agents → Approval Inbox in your workspace.
- Each item shows:
- The agent requesting approval
- The workflow or action being proposed
- A preview of what will happen if approved
- Timestamp of the request
Approving or Rejecting
- Approve — The agent proceeds with the action
- Reject — The action is cancelled and the agent is notified
Review the proposed action carefully before approving, especially for:
- Social media posts (check tone, accuracy, and branding)
- Customer communications (verify the message is appropriate)
- Data modifications (ensure the changes are correct)
Setting Up Approval Requirements
Approval checkpoints can be configured in your workflows:
- Add an approval step between the AI generation and execution steps
- Configure which team members can approve
- Set up email notifications for pending approvals
Common Issues
I do not see an approval I expected
- Check whether the workflow or agent is actually configured to require approval
- Check whether the action already ran automatically under the current approval mode
- Check whether another reviewer already approved or rejected it
I can see approvals, but I cannot approve them
That usually means your role does not have the required approval authority for that workspace or workflow.
Best Practices
- Review approvals promptly — pending items block agent execution
- Use approval workflows for any customer-facing content
- Start with approvals enabled, then relax them as you trust the agent's output
